Low Carbon Fuel Standard Primer – Virtual Event
An LCFS Program is a market-based and technology-neutral policy to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels (e.g. diesel and gasoline) by incentivizing a range of low-carbon and renewable alternatives. It allows producers and importers to generate, acquire, transfer, bank, borrow, and trade credits. LCFS Programs also reduce overall dependency on petroleum and improve air quality, and complement state emissions reduction and clean transportation programs. NECA’s Fuels Committee will bring together a panel of experts in the LCFS field to walk us through how these programs work, the evolution of LCFS programs across the country, and an update on the development of such programs in the Northeast.
