Job Responsibilities

Day Pitney’s Energy group is seeking a highly motivated associate with 2–4 years of general corporate transactional experience to join our growing team in the Hartford, Connecticut (preferred) or Boston, Massachusetts office.

Candidates should have experience in a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, corporate governance, licensing matters, and general corporate transactional matters. Ideal candidates will have experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents, including disclosure schedules, financing and security agreements, LLC operating agreements, and other forms of contracts. While experience with energy-related transactions would be preferred, it is not required.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated and challenging matters in a nationally recognized energy transactions practice as well as opportunities for direct client contact and deal leadership and a clear path to developing deep subject-matter expertise in one of the most dynamic and in-demand sectors.

 

Job Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of corporate transactional experience, with a demonstrated interest in the energy industry
  • Excellent drafting, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical, professional, and client service abilities
  • Strong legal research, analytical, and transactional skills
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multi-document transactions with a high degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Admission to the Connecticut or Massachusetts Bar, and in good standing, is required
