For over 30 years Scott Mueller has provided advice and representation to a wide variety of clients in regards to energy transactions, regulatory proceedings and litigation. He represents energy companies and other stakeholders on transactional, regulatory and rate matters before the state utility commissions, federal agencies and appellate courts. Scott has advised municipalities, electric and natural gas utilities, energy aggregators, suppliers, financial institutions, investors, energy marketers, interstate pipelines, government agencies and large consumers of energy on a variety of matters including the state regulation of utilities and energy supplies, the purchase and sale of electricity and natural gas, competition in regulated markets, renewable energy, the financing and development of energy projects and mergers and acquisitions. Prior to founding SJM Law, Scott spent over 25 years at a major global law firm and has been recognized as a leading advisor to the electric and natural gas industries. He currently represents the largest municipal aggregation consultant in the U.S. and is working with over 50 cities and towns in Massachusetts on the implementation of their community energy aggregation programs. Scott is a frequent lecturer and writer on energy topics and has served as a director, officer and president of the Northeast Energy and Commerce Association.
