Day Pitney’s Energy & Utilities group is seeking a Senior Associate with a minimum of five years of energy experience to join our growing team.

Ideal candidates will have demonstrated experience in transactions related to energy companies and power projects, including the federal and state regulations applying to those transactions. Experience in matters involving regional transmission organizations and wholesale power markets is a plus.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is entrepreneurial and looking to work alongside industry experts to develop and implement innovative solutions to the complex challenges confronting the energy industry.

Day Pitney’s Energy & Utilities lawyers have extensive knowledge of the energy and utility industries, the regulatory environment in which they operate and their highly competitive landscapes. Our team includes lawyers who have held senior executive positions in the energy industry and in government. Day Pitney represents a broad range of clients, including electric, gas and water utilities; debt and equity investors; generators, transmitters and marketers; equipment contractors; and other energy and utility market participants.

Day Pitney offers a hybrid in-office / remote work schedule to provide our attorneys with greater flexibility.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated energy and utilities experience
  • Excellent technical, drafting, professional and client service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills
  • Team-oriented with an emphasis on collaboration
  • Effective and efficient problem solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and proactively, and to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
  • Bar admission in good standing in the jurisdiction you plan to practice
